Vegetación autóctona y fauna

Autoctonous vegetation and fauna. The vegetation is related to the common species of the Marina Alta coast, such as the mastic, the aladierno and the rosemary, and other ones such as the asparto, the bayón, the fine-leaved crown and the lavender. It is easy to find young aleppo pines and other trees, for example, the carob, the fig and the olive trees. They are typical trees from the Mediterranean land.
The sea influence and its proximity is appreciated in the shape and in the lushness of some species. We also find other species, such as the Mediterranean dwarf, maragalló, the albaida, the gorse, the thyme, the ephedra, the honeysuckle, the carnation, the Valencian bluebell, as well as the lesser centaury, the black hawthorn made of rock, the virgin’s shoe and the rugged rock.
The last ones are very strange and endemic species of the area. On the one hand, the seabed, preserved in an extraordinary condition, alternates rocky black zones covered by small brown seaweeds with white sandy areas and with the important presence of lush posidonia, which is the highest oxygen generator in our environment. The rocks provide a shelter for some sea animals, such as the octopus and the lobsters.
The octopus are very difficult to see due to its high capacity of camouflage. On the other side, the breams move incessantly along the seabed, next to the dozens of obladas and mabras, while schools of salps graze on the posidonia, showing striking yellow reflections. Dealing with our great coast, we can mention more sea animals, the mountain fish and the colourful fredis. Sometimes larger fish can appear, such as the sea breams and the sea bass. The starfish gives colour to the sea. We can find a great group of sea urchins in this area. By contrast, in other parts of the Marina Alta coast they have almost disappeared.
