The Town Hall of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell is the main seat of municipal administration. The current building was inaugurated on 11 March 1988 and occupies a central position in the urban core. Overall, it operates as an institutional hub and a civic landmark.
Before serving as town hall, the municipal schools were located on this same site. Its position at the end of Calle Mayor links it to key facilities such as the church, the market, and the tourism office. That proximity strengthens its role in everyday municipal life.
The building is arranged over three floors with administrative departments, technical and urban-planning services, the justice of the peace court, and the plenary hall. As public management expanded, its internal organization adapted to new needs. Some services were gradually decentralized to other municipal buildings.
The facade uses traditional local materials, including rough stone. In the upper section, an old coat of arms is preserved, replacing another in the 1990s after heraldic studies. The same emblem was also reproduced in large format in the church square.
Broadly speaking, the Town Hall combines administrative function with local historical memory. It remains a representative building within the urban fabric. Its institutional image is recognized by the stone facade and the presence of the historic coat of arms.
