Local Festivities

Description

At the end of July, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell prepares to experience the most intense days of the year in the festive calendar. The major festivals in honor of Santa María Magdalena are a meeting point for neighbors of all ages and visitors who these days have an opportunity to feel like “pobleros” in days that encourage them to go out into the streets.

The Festeros – the youth group made up of 22-year-old boys and 18-year-old girls – offer the town a program of celebrations with a wide variety of shows, traditional music and dance, religious events, bullfights, children's attractions, pyrotechnics... through which you can enjoy the big days of the town.

The calendar of events is prepared around the local festival days, July 22 and 25, days in which the patron saint and Saint James are honored. The rest of the programming – which usually lasts for about 12 days – takes place on the night of the presentation of the festivities; the day of the Quintadas; the floats, the bullfighting days, etc. Without a doubt, a perfect opportunity to get to know and visit El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.

The major festivals of the municipality are celebrated in the last weeks of July; around July 22. See the exact date on the annual calendar. The footpath leads to a viewpoint where is sighted, to the north, the entire beach of Moraig from a new perspective, with the Cap de la Nau in the background. We end up at an area of geological interest, the fault, the diary or in the tourist office.
