Puig Llorença Viewpoint

The Mirador del Puig Llorença is located just a few metres before reaching the summit of Puig Llorença, in an elevated position overlooking the coast to the south. From here, visitors can enjoy an extraordinary panorama stretching from El Poble Nou de Benitatxell across the coastline of the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa.

Looking south along the coast

The viewpoint’s orientation makes it possible to follow a large section of the Alicante coastline. The coast of Teulada-Moraira appears in the foreground, followed further south by Benissa and Calp, dominated by the unmistakable silhouette of Penyal d’Ifac.

On clear days, the panorama extends beyond the Marina Alta towards Altea and Benidorm, whose surrounding relief and urban skyline can be distinguished in the distance.

The succession of headlands, bays, mountains and coastal towns offers an excellent perspective on the complex geography of this stretch of the Mediterranean coast.

Between sea and mountains

The elevated position of Puig Llorença reveals how the mountains of the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa approach the Mediterranean until they almost meet the sea.

Among the great landmarks of the landscape is Penyal d’Ifac, rising dramatically from the coast at Calp, while inland the mountain ranges form the distinctive rugged relief of northern Alicante.

The contrast between the Mediterranean, the coastal towns and the surrounding mountains makes this viewpoint one of Benitatxell’s great natural balconies overlooking the south.

A different landscape after dark

The Mirador del Puig Llorença also offers a particularly attractive perspective at sunset and after nightfall. As daylight fades, the towns distributed along the coastline begin to light up, tracing the shape of the coast across the landscape.

The lights of Moraira, Calp, Altea and Benidorm make it possible to recognise in the darkness much of the same panorama that stretches towards the horizon during the day.

Two viewpoints, two perspectives

Just a few metres away is the Mirador del Cim del Puig Llorença, located at the highest point and characterised by its extensive 360-degree panorama.

The two viewpoints complement each other: while the Mirador del Cim provides an understanding of the landscape in every direction, the Mirador del Puig Llorença focuses the view on the southern coastline, from Benitatxell towards the Marina Baixa.

The Mirador del Puig Llorença therefore offers one of the municipality’s great coastal panoramas: the Mediterranean, mountains and coastal towns stretching southwards until they disappear into the horizon.
